Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Provide technical guidance and training to program participants on poultry rearing best practices, business management, and financial literacy.
- Build strong relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners to ensure project sustainability and impact.
- Manage project finances, resources, and logistics effectively and transparently.
- Identify and address potential challenges and opportunities to maximize project success.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least a diploma in agronomy, agriculture, livestock, community development, or related disciplines. A bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in agricultural practices, particularly in poultry rearing and farming.
- Demonstrated success in managing and growing an agricultural business.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for community development and improving livelihoods.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with proficiency in reporting, evaluating, and planning.
- Ability to maintain positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to devise creative solutions to complex issues.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; well organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Good planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Understanding of business and enterprise development, with experience working with small-scale farmers as an added advantage.
- Practical experience in partnership building and collaboration with the government and other partners.
- Proficiency in computer skills and basic administrative tasks.
- Fluency in English, Swahili, and Dholuo is an added advantage.
