Job Purpose

The Human Resource Officer offers guidance and support to employees and management on HR functions, ensuring compliance with policies and managing employee data effectively.

Main Responsibilities of the Job

A) Managerial Responsibilities:

  • None

B) Functional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee recruitment, screening, interviewing, onboarding, and placement of employees.
  • Maintain and update employee data in various systems.
  • Manage issuance and amendments of employee contracts and letters.
  • Process employment terminations in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Facilitate staff transfers and ensure proper documentation.
  • Register employees with statutory bodies and manage monthly payments.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage staff attendance and working hours.
  • Process overtime applications and track hours.
  • Administer employee leave applications.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Team Leader.
  • Prepare reports on personnel activities.
  • Coordinate HR-led company activities.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies.
  • Administer payroll and provide relevant data.
  • Communicate with authorities on employment matters.
  • Handle disciplinary procedures as per legal standards.
  • Conduct orientation for new employees.

Minimum Requirements

A) Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.

B) Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

  • Government authorities (NSSF, NHIF, OSHA, WCF, etc.)
