VisionFund Tanzania Microfinance Bank Ltd (VFT MFB), previously known as SEDA, is a reputable and rapidly growing Micro Finance Bank with a loan portfolio exceeding TZs. 44 billion and a customer base of over 60,000, including more than 5,000 smallholder farmers. VFT-MFB is looking to hire motivated Tanzanian individuals who are passionate about economic development.

Job Summary

Education Bachelor’s degree in Rural Development, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or Community Development
Experience Ability to work in remote areas, valid motorcycle driving license, and knowledge of Village Saving and Lending systems
Working Hours Full-time

Job Responsibility

  1. Set and agree on targets with Field Officers.
  2. Develop daily activity plans with Field Officers.
  3. Regularly monitor the performance of Field Officers.
  4. Continuously coach and train Field Officers.
  5. Oversee the performance of FAST Loans.
  6. Identify training needs for staff involved with the FAST product.
  7. Coordinate training sessions in collaboration with People & Culture.
  8. Monitor daily performance of Field Officers.
  9. Evaluate the performance of loans and financial services for FAST groups.
  10. Develop a rollout plan including location, staffing, and budget.
  11. Oversee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of Field Officers.
  12. Liaise with IT to establish necessary channels.
  13. Ensure accurate reporting of FAST loans in the core banking system.
  14. Coordinate and support impact surveys as required.
  15. Share lessons learned with other implementing MFIs.

Qualifications and Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
    1. Rural Development
    2. Sales and Marketing
    3. Business Administration
    4. Economics
    5. Community Development
  2. Ability to work in remote areas.
  3. Valid motorcycle driving license.
  4. Strong understanding of Village Saving and Lending systems or S4T model.
  5. Fluency in English.
  6. Proficient in MS Office.
  7. Ability to resolve conflicts and communicate effectively.
  8. Negotiation skills and system analysis capabilities.
  9. Organized and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  10. Knowledge of Micro Finance Credit business operations, accounting, and banking operations is preferred.
  11. Basic understanding of business financials, profit/loss, and budgeting.
  12. Familiarity with essential project management elements.
