Job Responsibilities
The Extension and Training Senior Officer will implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for farmers in the assigned district and may work across various regions to enhance impact and sustainability through training and extension. Responsibilities include:
- Achieving adoption targets by providing tailored product recommendations and training to farmers.
- Reporting challenges faced by farmers to leadership for necessary action.
- Supervising lead farmers in training delivery and management of demonstration plots.
- Ensuring farmer satisfaction through effective training.
- Conducting regular data collection for surveys and ensuring data quality.
- Supporting the execution of relevant trials in the region.
- Enrolling farmer groups and delivering customer service in all interactions.
Qualifications and Requirements
For this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Certificate or Diploma in agriculture-related courses.
- At least 1 year of experience in agriculture or community development.
- Proficiency in technology (computers, email, tablets).
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Swahili is an advantage.
