Job Responsibility
- Lead toolbox meetings according to company safety procedures.
- Identify workplace hazards and ensure control measures are implemented.
- Report new hazards and notify supervisors of risks requiring attention.
- Report injuries, illnesses, and incidents promptly.
- Plan drilling logistics to ensure timely resource availability.
- Locate drillhole positions using GPS.
- Inspect drill pads before mobilizing drilling equipment.
- Coordinate survey teams for drill site layout.
- Align rigs according to drill plan specifications.
- Prepare work rosters and confirm leave bookings for team members.
- Reconcile sample quality, including core marking and recoveries.
- Record geological information and measurements on drill cores.
- Perform geotechnical logging if assigned to Core Yard.
- Determine when to stop boreholes or change drilling sequences.
- Prepare daily work reports at the end of each shift.
- Ensure all samples are collected and handed over to the exploration Core Yard.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Secondary Education or Diploma in Geology, Exploration, or Mining from a recognized institution.
- Possession of a Tanzanian Driving License is an advantage.
- 6+ years of experience in field mapping and exploration drilling for Diploma holders.
- 10+ years of experience in field mapping and exploration drilling for Secondary Education holders.
- Able to identify and collect geological information and measurements.
- Good understanding of HSE standards and implementation.
