Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct 7-day brooding trials for each hatch from the hatchery.
  • Receive day-old chicks four times a week as hatches are completed.
  • Label each hatch and pen with relevant information for traceability.
  • Rear each hatch separately for 7 days under consistent management and biosecurity.
  • Maintain complete records for traceability and corrective actions.
  • Weigh and count all birds on placement day and the 7th day to calculate average body weight.
  • Record mortality and perform daily postmortems, sharing findings promptly.
  • Collect and maintain high-quality data, ensuring pens are well-maintained and secure.
  • Maintain consistent brooding conditions to avoid performance variations.
  • Perform crop-fill checks at specified intervals and address any deviations immediately.
  • Supervise staff and enforce strict farm biosecurity measures.
  • Disinfect pens, feeders, and drinkers at the end of the trial and remove bedding.
  • Document and escalate any logistics delays affecting trials.
  • Implement AGP’s quality and biosecurity procedures throughout operations.
  • Ensure proper functioning of farm equipment and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Follow directives from the Production Director accurately.
  • Work effectively under pressure in demanding conditions.
  • Communicate clearly in English for internal reporting and coordination.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting and documentation.
  • Work independently while maintaining confidentiality regarding AGP protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • BSc/BS or DVM in Animal/Poultry/Veterinary Science.
  • Preference for fresh graduates.
