Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct 7-day brooding trials for each hatch from the hatchery.
- Receive day-old chicks four times a week as hatches are completed.
- Label each hatch and pen with relevant information for traceability.
- Rear each hatch separately for 7 days under consistent management and biosecurity.
- Maintain complete records for traceability and corrective actions.
- Weigh and count all birds on placement day and the 7th day to calculate average body weight.
- Record mortality and perform daily postmortems, sharing findings promptly.
- Collect and maintain high-quality data, ensuring pens are well-maintained and secure.
- Maintain consistent brooding conditions to avoid performance variations.
- Perform crop-fill checks at specified intervals and address any deviations immediately.
- Supervise staff and enforce strict farm biosecurity measures.
- Disinfect pens, feeders, and drinkers at the end of the trial and remove bedding.
- Document and escalate any logistics delays affecting trials.
- Implement AGP’s quality and biosecurity procedures throughout operations.
- Ensure proper functioning of farm equipment and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Follow directives from the Production Director accurately.
- Work effectively under pressure in demanding conditions.
- Communicate clearly in English for internal reporting and coordination.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting and documentation.
- Work independently while maintaining confidentiality regarding AGP protocols.
Qualifications and Requirements
- BSc/BS or DVM in Animal/Poultry/Veterinary Science.
- Preference for fresh graduates.
