Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements in compliance with IFRS and other statutory requirements.
- Oversee the consolidation of financial statements and ensure reporting integrity.
- Ensure timely submission of financial returns to regulators and stakeholders.
- Maintain and apply accounting policies consistently across the bank.
- Develop and present management reports to support decision-making.
- Provide variance analysis against budget and prior periods, recommending corrective actions.
- Support the Head of Finance and Strategy in interpreting financial results.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely availability of reports.
- Implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
- Support financial controls and compliance with risk management policies.
- Contribute to financial planning and capital adequacy assessments.
- Participate in strategic initiatives with financial analysis.
- Support the implementation of efficient financial systems.
- Drive improvements in financial reporting processes and systems.
- Identify opportunities for automation in reporting workflows.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial data management.
- Collaborate with finance, risk, ICT, and business units for information validation.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, auditors, and regulators.
- Provide training and guidance to finance staff on reporting processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is required.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry is preferred.
