Job Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, record, and receipt rent payments made by tenants, including M-PESA, bank transfers, and cheques.
- Issue receipts promptly and log them systematically in manual and digital systems.
- Assist in matching payments to tenant accounts and updating ledgers.
- Prepare daily cash and payment reconciliation reports for internal review.
- Report inconsistencies in financial records to the Accounts & Reporting Officer.
- Support month-end reconciliations of rent received against tenant balances.
- Review tenant payment histories to identify arrears or overdue balances.
- Engage with credit control and property management teams to align receipting with rent collection status.
- Provide support to tenants inquiring about balances, receipts, or payment issues.
- Organize and maintain updated records for tenant receipts and payment confirmations.
- Assist with document retrieval during financial audits or spot checks.
- Track petty cash usage and maintain documentation under supervision.
- Prepare petty cash summaries for authorized small day-to-day office expenses.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Land Economics, Property Management, or related field from a recognized institution.
- No formal work experience required, but practical exposure through internships, attachments, or coursework in real estate finance, rent collection, or tenancy management is desirable.
