Key Responsibilities
- Report to the General Manager.
- Ensure excellent guest relations and maintain a personal attention level that makes guests feel at home.
- Manage and develop lodge staff in accordance with Singita’s standards.
- Participate in human resources activities, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, gardening, and maintenance.
- Administer financial management, including orders and stock control.
- Communicate with departmental teams to meet guest needs and ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee daily concierge and reception administration.
- Ensure quality care of equipment and products.
- Plan and implement strategic management goals for the lodge.
- Contribute to sustainability efforts and seek ways to enhance eco-friendly operations.
- Support and communicate Singita’s conservation message.
- Perform additional tasks as required by the business.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of management experience in a five-star hotel or world-class lodge.
- Strong service excellence standards and a passion for hospitality.
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage preparation and terminology.
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Financial management skills.
- Fluency in English; a second language is preferred.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Strong management and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of basic labor laws and disciplinary procedures.
- Commitment to staff development.
- Familiarity with housekeeping and maintenance procedures.
- Awareness of trends in the food and hospitality industries.
