Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global supplier quality strategy aligned with SATO’s overall quality and business objectives.
- Lead a team of geographically dispersed quality professionals responsible for supplier quality management in Asia and Africa.
- Establish and maintain robust supplier quality management systems, including supplier qualification, performance monitoring, audit programs, and corrective action processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply base, leveraging methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Collaborate closely with Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing, SCM, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of supplier quality throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance supplier quality capabilities and performance.
- Manage supplier quality performance metrics and reporting, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action investigations for supplier quality issues.
- Develop and manage supplier quality budgets and resources.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in supplier quality management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supplier quality management, with a proven track record of success in a global manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience managing quality across Asia and Africa is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and related tools and techniques.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English is required. Fluency in other languages relevant to the supplier base is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required (up to 50%).
