Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage training programs for various offices to meet operational needs.
• Maintain knowledge of the mortgage collateral valuation assessment process and engage in mortgage assessments.
• Update and draft policies and procedures for valuation report reviews as needed.
• Participate in refresher training for Relationship Managers and Officers regarding collateral valuation techniques.
• Evaluate creditworthiness and risks associated with mortgage collateral valuations and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Conduct feedback meetings with business units to address challenges in mortgage assessments.
• Engage valuation professionals to develop and review collateral assessments using applicable valuation methods.
• Attend workshops by valuation regulatory bodies to stay informed on market values affecting collateral assessments.
• Participate in quality assurance discussions regarding mortgage loan valuation assessments.
• Collaborate with real estate professionals to address challenges in valuation reports.
• Submit timely reports to management regarding variances in valuation reports.
• Periodically validate data in the Collateral Management Tool, especially for legal mortgages.
• Design and implement methodologies for valuing collaterals for credit exposures of TZS50m and below.
• Develop benchmarks for collateral haircuts based on experience and historical recoveries from foreclosures.
• Visit collateral properties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Management, Land Management, and Valuation.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Real Estate Management within the Banking sector.
