Job Responsibilities:
- Complete the cane haulage vehicle conformance checklist before vehicle activation for cane delivery.
- Coordinate with grower and/or haulier supervisors to obtain information on available and collectible cane stocks for the cane logistics system and loader availability by field.
- Perform hourly checks on available and collectible cane stocks for all harvesting sites and input data into the cane logistics system.
- Engage with cane haulage drivers regarding taring out and issuing scheduling tickets.
- Monitor the status of all cane haulage vehicles to identify supply risks.
- Collect information on field conditions and update the system, reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Gather information on vehicle breakdowns and estimated arrival times via mobile/telephone.
- Coordinate with hauliers on vehicle breakdowns near the mill for immediate action.
- Ensure vehicle statuses in the cane logistics system accurately reflect the current situation.
- Collaborate with mill personnel on supply risks and advise on sustainable crush rates based on weather, field, and road conditions.
- Report connectivity issues and system downtime to the IT support team for troubleshooting.
- Adhere to Kilombero’s procedures, policies, and guidelines, including SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A ‘Level certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sugarcane operations, preferably in harvesting and haulage.
- Knowledge of transport logistics is advantageous.
- Computer literacy with a good understanding of fleet management systems.
