Job Purpose
The Credit Analyst is tasked with overseeing the entire process of credit applications and related transactions, which includes:
- Conducting credit assessments
- Defending credit proposals during review stages
- Managing documentation, disbursement, and administrative account matters
- Supervising all credit administrative tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely processing of credit applications
- Assist in managing and monitoring the lending portfolio
- Conduct credit appraisals and present recommendations to credit committees
- Process additional credit-related applications
- Collaborate with professionals such as advocates, accountants, valuers, and insurers
- Document issues from credit applications for future reference
- Identify weaknesses in credit processing and suggest or arrange appropriate training
- Follow up on audit reports related to credit applications and loan appraisals
- Analyze financial statements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or Economics
- Experience: Fresh graduate or at least 1 year of banking experience in credit management from a reputable commercial bank
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Good numerical and analytical abilities
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Structured approach to managing complex and variable work environments independently
- Able to balance conflicting business requirements
- Capable of managing both long-term and short-term requirements independently
