Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is looking for a Senior Drill and Blast Engineer to enhance its team.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with operating standards and safe work procedures.
- Manage Drill & Blast activities in accordance with safety, quality, and environmental policies.
- Oversee drill fleet management for efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in developing work schedules for Drill & Blast activities.
- Implement and report on continuous improvement and KPI initiatives.
- Prepare drill and charge plans for underground operations.
- Track progress according to schedule.
- Monitor blasting quality and optimize operational requirements.
- Help prepare budgets and forecasts for explosives and drilling consumables.
- Identify optimization opportunities for drill and blast activities.
- Review long-hole drilling and stopes bogging performance.
- Develop weekly drill and blast schedules to meet targets.
- Monitor blast performance focusing on fragmentation control.
- Provide technical expertise and liaise with explosives suppliers.
- Ensure proper allocation of drill rigs to meet budgetary results.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for reconciliation.
- Ensure QA/QC sheets are completed before blasting activities.
- Advise the Mining Manager on cost-reduction initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree in Mining Engineering and registration as a mining or professional engineer.
- Valid blasting certificate.
- Mine Overseers/Captain Certificate of Competency is an advantage.
Experience Requirements:
- 5 years of progressive underground mining experience, including large drilling and blasting activities.
- Experience in managing a sizable drill fleet in challenging conditions.
- Experience as a Drill & Blast coordinator in an underground setting.
- A tertiary qualification in a related field is preferred.
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
- Understanding of Mines Health & Safety Act.
- Knowledge of building materials.
- Full driving license.
- Good listening and teamwork skills.
- Methodical and organized with the ability to work independently.
- Effective and courteous service provision.
- Flexible working approach.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment skills.
