The Department of Public Works is responsible for the management and maintenance of public infrastructure in South Africa.

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver cleaning materials, equipment, documents, and other items as needed.
• Transport departmental officials and visitors as directed.
• Engage professionally with staff and stakeholders.
• Safely transport items and documents to designated locations.
• Complete and maintain transport schedules and trip records.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and report any faults or repair needs.
• Drive departmental vehicles in accordance with traffic rules, safety standards, and regulations.
• Promptly report accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage.
• Assist with Facilities Management-related activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Senior Certificate/Grade 12.
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 8 or 10).
• Public Driver’s Permit (advantageous).
• Knowledge of Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS) Act.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

• Good driving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal relations.
• Planning and time management abilities.
