Overall Purpose of the Job
The role involves providing strategic leadership in program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and learning. The Director will support the CEO in managing the Foundation’s strategic goals and objectives, ensuring effective execution and relevance in health initiatives, while promoting a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Key Output 1: Driving Strategic Processes Including Short- and Long-Term Strategic Plans
- Lead the management of the Foundation’s programs and translate institutional targets into actionable plans.
- Coordinate the implementation of the BMF Strategic Business Plan (2024–2030) and make recommendations to the Senior Management Team.
- Align departmental goals with the Foundation’s strategic plan.
- Enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Output 2: Ensure Effective and Efficient Program Planning and Implementation
- Ensure program targets are met as per the Strategic Business Plan.
- Assist program managers in budget preparation and review annual plans.
- Integrate approved project workplans into institutional structures.
- Manage risks to the Programs portfolio and inform the Senior Management team.
- Engage partners for impactful interventions.
Key Output 3: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research
- Provide guidance for monitoring institutional performance and evaluating effectiveness.
- Oversee data management and reporting systems across the organization.
- Support capacity building for result-based M&E systems.
- Forge partnerships with research institutions to enhance research development.
Key Output 4: Enhance BMF’s Learning and Robust Knowledge Management System
- Oversee knowledge management systems to promote knowledge sharing.
- Guide the analysis and adoption of evidence-based interventions.
- Ensure BMF’s active participation in policy dialogue platforms.
Key Output 5: Support Business Development Initiatives
- Collaborate with the Business Development Unit to establish partnerships.
- Engage with stakeholders for resource mobilization.
Key Output 6: Enhancing ICT Solutions into Health Programming
- Oversee the implementation of the BMF Digital Health plan.
- Provide guidance on digital solutions for health interventions.
Subordinate Effectiveness
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in a relevant field, with 5–7 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of organizational operations and strategic processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in program and project management.
