Job Overview

Position: Chief Manager Transactional Banking (1 Position)
Rank: Manager Transactional Banking
Department: Corporate Banking
Salary Scale: COBSS 11 (at Manager Level I)
Reports to: Director of Corporate Banking
Location: Dar es Salaam

Position Objective

The Chief Manager Transactional Banking will lead the division, focusing on developing and delivering cash management, payments, collections, integrated, and liquidity solutions for corporate, institutional, and SME clients. The role emphasizes product innovation, operational excellence, and client satisfaction while ensuring profitability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and implement the Transactional Banking strategy aligned with corporate goals.
  • Lead the development and launch of new products and services to meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to enhance the bank’s commercial banking offerings.

Product & Business Development

  • Oversee all Transactional Banking services, including:
    • Cash management
    • Payments and collection solutions
    • Integrated solutions for corporate and institutional clients
    • Liquidity management
    • Digital banking channels
  • Drive continuous innovation and improvement of the product portfolio.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Work with relationship management teams to provide tailored solutions to key clients.
  • Engage in strategic client meetings to support business acquisition and retention.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and service delivery.

P&L Management

  • Manage revenue, cost, and profitability targets for the business unit.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement growth initiatives.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and manage operational, financial, and reputational risks.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of product managers and support staff.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and accountability.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Banking, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Accountancy, Finance, Entrepreneurship, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in Transactional Banking or ICT in a senior leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of cash management, collections, payments infrastructure, and digital banking technologies.
  • Proven leadership and revenue growth experience.
  • Strategic mindset with strong understanding of financial products and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Client-centric with strong communication skills.
