National Election Board of Ethiopia(NEBE) for Internship opportunity fresh graduates.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referenda, and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its institutional strength with a special focus on the enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for the Intern Position who meet the following requirements.

Position: Interns – Training Department

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Education, Communication, Social Sciences, or related fields.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in communication platforms (e.g., email, social media) and basic office software (MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

The Training Intern will support the NEBE Training Department in preparing for the upcoming General Election. This role involves various aspects of training coordination, communication, and logistical support across all regions.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Training Center Identification and Arrangement
  • Collaborate with NEBE regional offices to identify potential training centers.
  • Ensure that all identified training centers comply with NEBE’s set standards (capacity, facilities, accessibility, and safety).
  • Maintain a centralized database of all identified training centers, including contact details and available facilities.
  • Trainers’ Recruitment and Management
  • Assist in disseminating announcements for trainer recruitment through various platforms (distributing official letters, email, social media, etc.).
  • Review applications, shortlist candidates, and communicate exam and interview schedules.
  • Assist in the written exam and interview assessments of candidates.
  • Training Activities Support
  • Provide logistical support for training sessions, including scheduling, booking flight/transport facilitation, and venue arrangement.
  • Collaborate with regional offices to ensure appropriate setup of training venues.
  • Monitoring Materials Distribution
  • Monitor the timely distribution and retrieval of training materials to and from training centers.
  • Ensure that all training centers receive the necessary materials and resources in a timely manner to facilitate effective training.
  • Communication and Reporting
  • Facilitate communication between NEBE regional offices, constituency offices, and the NEBE Training Department.
  • Follow up and collect updates and reports from training centers regarding ongoing training activities.
  • Training facilitation and attendance management
  • Assist in facilitating training sessions across the regions.
  • Collect daily attendance records from training centers across the regions.
  • Collect and organize trainers’ attendance records and reports to prepare for payment.
  • Assist in ensuring the timely submission of payment requests for trainers, hotels, and service providers.

Language

Proficiency in one or more regional languages is required (Amharic, Afan Oromo, Afari, Afan Somali, and Tigrigna).

Required number: 20

Reports to: Training Departments

Duty station: NEBE Headquarters, Addis Ababa

Duration: 10 months

Salary: There is no salary, but a Stipend to cover some costs
