Responsibilities
- Participate in the collection of sample materials such as soils, plants, and animal tissues as directed by the supervisor.
- Ensure sample materials are stored according to standard operating procedures to facilitate long-term storage and traceability.
- Prepare requisitions for laboratory consumables and analytical kits as needed.
- Conduct routine laboratory analysis of materials such as soils, plants, and animal tissues as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist in laboratory and field data collection and compilation.
- Participate in the containment and disposal of hazardous biological materials or chemicals.
- Assist in sample storage in the laboratory and maintain sample records for traceability.
- Ensure laboratory biosafety protocols are observed by all individuals entering the laboratory.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, or a related field from a recognized training institution.
- Experience working with captive breeding facilities in wildlife is an added advantage.
