Our client operates in the manufacturing sector and is looking for a Financial Accountant. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of all companies within the group. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. This position collaborates closely with the cost accountant, various support functions, and executive leadership to ensure financial transparency, enhance performance, and support long-term business growth. The role includes overseeing four direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and coordinate the timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management accounts in accordance with IFRS.
  • Ensure accurate consolidation of financial data across all departments and companies within the group.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies for statutory audits and compliance reviews.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Oversee financial modules in operating systems to ensure accurate data flow.
  • Manage the payroll process to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Compute and file corporate taxes, VAT, levies, and surcharges in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure timely compliance.
  • Track and report on capital projects, including ROI analysis and budget adherence.
  • Develop rolling forecasts and scenario planning models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Drive automation and digitization of financial processes to improve efficiency.
  • Partner with various functions to provide financial insights.
  • Present financial data to the Executive Team in an actionable format.
  • Develop a self-sufficient talent pipeline to support career progression of direct reports.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
