Job Summary
IHI is looking for a qualified Research Nurse/Assistant Nursing Officer to work at antenatal care clinics and collect data on mothers and infants involved in the MMS-MAP study, ensuring optimal care for participants.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical research studies following research protocols, GCP, and SOPs.
- Ensure the protection, rights, safety, and well-being of study participants.
- Responsible for participant recruitment.
- Conduct anthropometric measurements.
- Collect blood and other specimens, liaising with the laboratory.
- Provide counseling on psychosocial and nutritional issues.
- Maintain participant privacy and confidentiality.
- Accurately complete study-related forms and enter data daily according to SOPs.
- Communicate regularly with other study staff and actively participate in meetings.
- Maintain positive working relationships between hospital staff and IHI.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 4-year certificate or Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution, registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).
- Experience in clinical research and antenatal clinics is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in using a laptop for MMS-MAP study data collection.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; good writing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
